Incredible wildlife trip in the Manu Reserve in the Peruvian jungle.

"Incredible wildlife, superb guides, basic eco-lodge accommodation, good food. Highlights include sightings of jaguars, river otters, red howler monkeys, white-faced capuchins and spider monkeys, magnificent Hoatzin birds posing, macaws, toucans, cock-of-the-rock, caimans, tarantulas and capybaras. A big thank you to our amazing team at amazontoursperu.com. Only 2,000 tourists a year come to this part of the Manu Reserve — it is the real thing 👍"

Book your Amazon trip HERE! You will NOT regret it!!

"One of the best tours I have ever been on. Thanks to the following people:

Percy: He was in charge of the booking and did a wonderful job explaining what we could experience.

David: He was the main tour guide, and his enthusiasm for animals and nature was really contagious. David is very kind and will do everything he can to make you see the animals, even though they are good at hiding! David is super friendly and I loved having him as a guide...."

Great!!! Amazing!!! Just do it!!!

"Our three-day trip was absolutely amazing! We had the best time in Manu National Park. We saw lots of animals (snakes, capybaras, birds, spiders, parrots and more), ate great food (the best in Peru so far!!), and our tour guide David was so sweet. He explained everything to us and took his time to make sure everyone could watch the animals through his spotting scope. We really recommend doing an Amazon tour! Very good!"

Adventure of a lifetime

"I considered myself a picky eater and a bit set in my ways, so I was worried about the food, the accommodation and the dangers in the jungle, but the chef was great and made delicious, varied food for every meal. There were always pasta or potato dishes for us fussy eaters, and the soups were incredible. The first lodge was basic, but I had a good night's sleep and a hot shower with electricity all night. The second lodge was beautiful, modern cabins surrounded by forest. They only have electricity for 2 hours, so make sure you charge your things when you can. Having a cold shower was a bit tough, but a very small price to pay to experience the Amazon..."

Incredible adventure in the Amazon rainforest

"We did the 3-day tour with David as our tour guide. He was very kind and able to answer all our questions. We could see his passion for nature and the rainforest. He carefully picked a route through the jungle to make sure we saw as much wildlife as possible on our tour. We always felt safe around him and the rest of the group. They brought their own chef, who made us the most incredible feasts three times a day. The lodges we stayed in were basic but comfortable. We can only recommend doing this tour."

Essential Tips for the Rainforest

Practical and medical information so you can travel with complete peace of mind and make the most of your expedition.

Vaccines & Medical Prevention

The Yellow Fever vaccine is recommended, given at least 10 days before entering the jungle. We advise you on prophylaxis, travel medical insurance and personal expedition first-aid kits.

Luggage & Suitable Clothing

Bring long-sleeved, quick-drying clothing in neutral tones (avoid dark and blue colours, which attract insects), waterproof hiking boots, a head torch and a rain poncho.

Dry Season vs. Rainy Season

From May to October (dry season) the trails are more accessible and the macaw clay licks are at peak activity. From November to April the rivers rise, making canoe navigation to remote lakes easier.
