Manu & Tambopata Entrance Fees and Tour Costs (2026)

By General Manager · Amazon Trip Peru

Manu National Park and the Tambopata National Reserve charge the same official entrance fee, set by SERNANP, Peru’s protected areas service. For a foreign visitor it is S/30 for one day, S/60 for two to three days and S/150 for four to thirty days, paid in Peruvian soles. On top of that you pay for the tour itself, which is where most of the budget goes. Below are the official 2026 rates, what a Manu or Tambopata tour really costs, and the extras that are easy to forget.

Entrance fees at a glance (2026)

Ticket valid for Foreign visitors (general rate) Peruvian adults Peruvian minors (5–16)
1 day S/30 S/15 S/8
2–3 days S/60 S/30 S/15
4–30 days S/150 S/75 S/35

The rates are identical for Manu and Tambopata. Children under 5 enter free, and SERNANP also lists a reduced rate for local residents with ID. Because most Amazon tours last three to eight days, the ticket that applies to most travelers is the S/60 (2–3 days) or the S/150 (4–30 days) one.

Manu National Park entrance fee

Manu uses the rates in the table above. SERNANP lists visiting hours from 7:00 to 16:00, Monday to Sunday, and recommends visiting from April to November. Two rules matter when you plan:

  • An authorized operator is required to visit the Pusharo petroglyphs and the Manu River by water, which is the route into the Manu Reserved Zone. SERNANP publishes the list of authorized operators.
  • For those same areas, SERNANP asks visitors to be vaccinated against yellow fever.

The high Andean sector of the park (Alto Andino) is the only part that SERNANP says you can visit on your own or with a tour company.

Tambopata National Reserve entrance fee

Tambopata charges the same rates. SERNANP lists visiting hours from 5:00 to 19:00, a recommended season from May to October and a rainy season from December to March. Entry to the reserve requires hiring a tour operator authorized by SERNANP, so in practice the fee is part of a lodge or tour package. The same reserve-wide ticket covers routes such as the clay licks; there is no separate route price on the SERNANP page.

Is the entrance fee included in the tour?

It depends on the operator, so always check the “included” list. On our tours:

  • Every Manu tour includes the Manu National Park entrance fee. The 8-day Reserved Zone tour also includes the entrance to the macaw and tapir clay licks, and the 5-day tapir and parrot clay lick tour includes the tapir clay lick entrance.
  • The Tambopata 3-day tour includes the Tambopata National Reserve entrance fee and the Chuncho clay lick, plus the transfer from the Puerto Maldonado airport or bus station.

We buy the tickets for you, which is why we ask for each traveler’s passport number when you book.

How much does a Manu or Tambopata tour cost?

These are our current prices per person in US dollars. The price goes up with the number of days and with the zone: tours that reach the Manu Reserved Zone spend more days on the river and need an authorized operator.

Tour Days Area From (per person)
Tambopata Tour 3 Days 3 Tambopata $295
Manu Rainforest Tour 3 Days 3 Manu Cultural Zone $300
Manu National Park Tour 4 Days 4 Manu Cultural Zone $350

Manu Reserved Zone Tour 6 Days 6 Manu Reserved Zone $950
Manu Reserved Zone Tour 7 Days 7 Manu Reserved Zone $1,200

For comparison, on their websites in October 2026 other Cusco operators listed Manu tours from about $250 for 2 days to about $1,050 for 7 days, with Reserved Zone trips of 5 to 7 days at around $900–$950. Lodge-based packages in Tambopata from one of the large lodge companies started at about $1,266 per person for 2 to 5 days. Prices are not always comparable: check the number of nights in the lowland rainforest, the lodges and whether the entrance fee and transport are included.

Extra costs to budget for

  • Getting to Tambopata: flights or bus tickets from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado and airport taxes are not included in the Tambopata tour. See how to get from Cusco to the Amazon.

  • Drinks: soft drinks and alcoholic drinks.
  • Breakfast and drinking water on the first day of Manu tours.
  • Travel insurance and tips, which are not included.
  • Binoculars, if you do not bring your own, on the tours that list them as not included.
