Day-by-Day Itinerary
CUSCO – CHINCHERO- MORAY – SALT MINES- OLLANTAYTAMBO – PISAC
The full day Sacred Valley tour begins when we pick you up from your hotel, at 7: 00a.m depending on the location of your hotel. Then, we drive along the North Route of Cusco City to arrive in 40 minutes to Chinchero, the highest place of the tour (3762 mts), once we reach this beautiful and colorful place we will visit the Inca Site, we will also find local people who sell typical crafts and textiles.
We will continue the trip to the next place, Moray, this is an example of an agricultural experimentation center, a kind of greenhouse for the Incas, this huge place is located in a natural geographical depression, and they make it a very different place from the others.
The next point of visit will be the town of Maras to access the Salinas (Salineras), this is something that can only be seen in a few places in the world, more than 5000 sources of salt are still being exploited by the locals getting this special mineral with ancestral techniques.
We will continue to Urubamba, town where we will have free time for lunch, then the trip will be to Ollantaytambo, the largest Inca site in this area, this is known as a living Inca city, as the twin was built on the remains of the Inca, it is also very easy to find local people wearing typical clothing that makes their daily lives.
Then we will go to the last place Pisaq, this is another great Inca city where you will find huge agricultural terraces and buildings used for ceremonial purposes.
On the way back to Cusco (19:00 approx.), we will leave you one block from the main square because at this moment we have a lot of traffic to take you back to your hotel.
