Privacy Policy

At Amazon Trip Peru we protect the personal data of the people who travel with us. This policy explains what data we collect, what we use it for, who we share it with and how you can exercise your rights, in accordance with Peruvian Law No. 29733 on Personal Data Protection and its Regulations.

2. What data we collect

  • Identification and contact: full name, email, phone or WhatsApp and nationality.
  • Trip details: tour, dates, number of travellers, passport or ID number of the lead traveller and companions and, when a permit requires it, date of birth and occupation.
  • Dietary preferences you tell us about. They may reveal health information or beliefs, so we only use them to arrange your meals during the tour.
  • Payment data: we do not receive or store your card details. Card payments are processed by Izipay and PayPal payments by PayPal. We only record the amount, the date and the transaction code.
  • Claims and enquiries: the data you send us through the contact form, by email, on WhatsApp or in the Complaints Book.

3. What we use it for

  • To handle your request, confirm availability and manage your booking.
  • To obtain the permits and tickets your trip requires, such as entry to protected natural areas (SERNANP) or tickets to Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail (Ministry of Culture).
  • To coordinate with the lodges, transport companies and guides that provide the service.
  • To collect payments and send you receipts.
  • To answer your enquiries, claims and complaints.
  • To comply with our legal, tax and consumer protection obligations.

We do not sell your data or use it to send you advertising.

4. Who we share it with

  • Public bodies that issue the permits and tickets for your trip (SERNANP, Ministry of Culture).
  • Lodges, transport companies and guides that provide the services of your tour, only with the data they need.
  • Izipay and PayPal, to process payments.
  • The providers that host our website and email.
  • Competent authorities, when a law or an order requires it.

Some of these providers, for example PayPal or email and web hosting services, may process data outside Peru. In those cases the transfer is made only for the purposes described in this policy.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your data while our relationship lasts and then for the periods required by tax and consumer protection rules (for example, Complaints Book sheets are kept for at least two years). After that we delete or anonymise it.

6. Your rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, cancellation and objection (ARCO rights), and withdraw your consent, by writing to amazontripperu@gmail.com with the subject “Data protection”, stating your name and the right you wish to exercise. To protect your information we may ask you to prove your identity. We will reply within the time limits set by law.

If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you can file a complaint with Peru’s National Authority for Personal Data Protection (Ministry of Justice and Human Rights).

7. Cookies and third-party services

Our website does not use analytics or advertising cookies. It uses a technical cookie to remember the language you choose. Some pages show third-party content, such as a YouTube video in privacy-enhanced mode, the Google Maps map on the contact page and Google Fonts typefaces. When they load, these services may receive technical data such as your IP address, under their own policies.

8. Minors

Bookings must be made by adults. The data of minors who travel is provided by their parent or guardian, only to organise the trip.

9. Security

We use a secure connection (HTTPS), access to the booking records is restricted to authorised staff, and the payment gateway keys are stored encrypted.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The current version is always the one published on this page, with its update date.
